1344(Cardiff) Squadron Air Cadets

On Sunday 19 April 09 we had 50 cadets on activities, including a radio course, long range shooting and inter-squadron athletics.   Consequently we went to this year's athletics competition at Leckwith Stadium with fewer cadets than in previous years, and less than some of the other 18 squadrons present.  Nonetheless we won the Junior Women's category and the Under 17 Men category, and were declared overall winners by a significant margin.

I could not believe that we had done so well and managed to retain the winner's trophy for yet another year, and the cadets who achieved this victory did a special victory dance (above) which I have not seen before, but they were so pleased with their incredible success that all forms of celebration were justified.  I love watching cadets enjoy themselves, and whilst winning is not everything it is always very welcome.  I thank the cadets who worked so hard to achieve this latest sucess.  To see more photographs click here.
