Activity Calendar

Please note the full calendar of activities is only available at squadron.

Cadets wishing to attend an event must sign up at Squadron. Facebook sign ups are only accepted on short notice events.

If you are no longer able to go YOU MUST NOTIFY US AT LEAST 1 WEEK[1] BEFORE THE ACTIVITY DATE to allow us to re-offer any places. If you do not show up without informing us you'll be marked as AWOL for that event.

Events requiring a signed parental consent & medical form (C&M) or payment (£): these MUST BE RETURNED by the DUE DATE BEFORE THE ACTIVITY to reserve your place.

 Deadlines for forms & payments will be marked DUE followed by what they're for under the IMPORTANT REMINDERS filter.

Example:  DUE - C&M & £5 Camping (20 Jun)

The following events require the attendance of either All Cadets or a minimum number.

Some exceptions can be made but these must be discussed with the CO. This is only a small number of obligations within the vast number of other activities we have on offer so please make an effort to participate.

  • Swimming Proficiency Test - must be renewed every 12 months in order to take part in any watersports. Several dates scheduled each year and each cadet will only need to attend one. Renewal reminders are added to timetable's Important Reminders filter.
  • Cadet Lectures + Exams (parade nights) - Cadets must attend all lecture nights relevant to them. Missing a night may cause you to miss part of a lecture and you will not be signed off on that subject until you've completed all criteria. Cadets must pass their exams in order to progress or be offered further opportunities and advancements.
  • Remembrance Sunday Parade -November - all uniform cadets required (non uniform + public welcome to attend the service)
  • Armed Forces Day - June - minimum no. uniform cadets required for parade (TBC before date) + Band (TBC) + at least 6 for recruitment stand (non uniform + public welcome to visit event)
  • Dining In Oct/Nov - all cadets & staff need to attend.
  • Presentation Evenings Summer & Winter - All cadets need to attend - Parents/Guardians & Families are also invited.
  • SSAFA / BHF Marshalling May/Jun/Jul/Dec - minimum of 14 cadets required each time.
  • Squadron Annual Photograph - ALL CADETS & STAFF required
  • Bagpacks & charity collections - as announced, usu. 14+ required. The less cadets who attend a sqn fundraising bagpack the less money can be raised so the less £CCS is generated.
  • Scout Post Sorting & Delivery - December - All hands please - cadets, staff, civ com & parents/guardians. Minimum of 14 cadets required for delivery.
  • BASIC Course - any cadet who is 17+ and wishing to stay on past 18. CRB will also need to be completed. Apply to the CO.
