1344 is one of the few Squadrons in No.1 Welsh Wing to have a band as standard, though we do also team up with the other 1WW Squadrons such as 372 Barry & 2213 Rumney to form the Wing Band.

From competitions to public and private performances our band has represented our squadron and everyone they've entertained has said how good they are.

The cadets who make up the band have a keen interest in music, though even if someone has never played an instrument before they can still join and learn.

Cadet Membership

1344Sqn band is open to any cadet (or staff member) with a keen interest in music. You do not have to have any experience in playing as there are opportunities to learn.

You do not necessarily have to own your own instrument as 1344sqn has several (subject to availability against what is in use). However if you do have your own you are welcome to use it.

The band rehearse regularly, especially before a big performance. You will be expected to attend all possible rehearsals as well as the main events.

The Other Band

1344Sqn has occasionally run a non-military band, consisting of cadets who may not be part of the main band and using instruments not always found in a military band, such as piano and drum kit. This band is run subject to interest & availability of members and supervisors.
