Teamwork Leads the Way

The ATC has some other core activities. We try to make sure we participate in all of them.

These include:

  • Aircraft Recognition
  • Basic, Intermediate & Advanced Cadet Training
  • Cambrian Patrol
  • Field Cooking
  • First Aid - training & badges
  • Model Making
  • Radio Communications
  • Road Marching - competitions WARMA, Nijmegan & Belgian Death March

There's one overall thing you can say about 1344 (Cardiff) Sqn ATC and that's we're not an inactive Squadron. With the equivalent of around 400+ days worth of activities each year there's something for everyone and by the time a Cadet has finished their service with us, they should hopefully have an experience list longer than a Nimrod and a CV you'd need a Hercules to carry it around.

Other things that our sqn does include:

  • Big Overseas Adventures
  • Bagpacking
  • Carpark Marshalling
  • Charity & Community Work
  • Daytrips to educational places e.g. Aircraft Museums & Airshows
  • Daytrips to fun places e.g. activity parks
  • Event Set up/Takedown
  • Event Stewarding
  • Flight Sim Instruction to visiting groups
  • Overnight Trips to interesting places
  • Race Marshalling
  • And lots more...

The activities listed on this website are only part of our Squadron life. You can check out our Activity Calendar to see what other things we do, or take a look at our recruitment video.

Better yet, if you're age 13-17 or 20+ why not join us as a Cadet/Adult Volunteer and then you can experience them for yourself.

Other Activities and DofE

Nearly every activity in the ATC can be used for DofE. Check out the DofE Page for more details
