The ACO is a big provider of qualifications and training for cadets. Over the course of their service they could gain enough qualifications, awards, training and experiences to fill their CV several times over, and of course help to make that CV more likely to be read, and therefore the cadet more likely to be employed. Here are some of the many we have on offer.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

The ATC is one of the biggest partners of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme offering BronzeSilver & Gold level DofE to Cadets & Staff between the ages of 14 & 23 1/2.

The advantage we have is that not only can many of the things we do be used for the various sections - SkillsPhysical & Volunteering but we also have qualified hill & mountain Adventure Instructors & Expedition Assessors, meaning we can train cadets up and help them complete the Expedition section.

We can even offer the Gold Level Residential section and expeditions overseas.

Overseeing all this are our trained DofE Leaders and Mentors who will help someone through their award level from start to finish.

Doing your DofE through the ATC can work out cheaper as much of the training and activities are free. We can even loan you some kit for your expedition.

We offer BTEC qualifications in the following:

BTEC Award in Aviation Studies - equivalent to a GCSE in Science

BTEC Certificate in Aviation Studies - equivelent to 2 GCSEs

BTEC First Diploma in Public Services - equivalent to 4 GCSEs

BTEC in Music

BTECs usually take around 2-3 years each to achieve and are a mixture of both practical and paper work. Most of the time you'll be achieving your BTEC without even knowing it, once you've signed up for it, that is.
